My Outside Experience
Welcome to my experience page! Here you'll find information about the activities I've done over the years that help build a bigger picture over who I am in the professional world.
1. Church Experience
Nearly every Sunday, I am a guitar player for the Fellowship Of Purpose Church (FOP) Youth Praise Team. On other occasions, I am often helping out with events, charities, ministries, and other things to serve not only unto Christ, but my fellow community. It's a great feeling to know at the end of the day, someone's life is better because of the work you've did.
2. Codexcel Tech Instructor
I've been a tech instructor on Saturdays for VictoryVillage Corp. I love to teach people more about technology, and being an instructor for kids eager to learn more about it is deeply fulfilling to me as a person. We go over a whole array of topics and assignments, from programming to designing circuitry, and even making a plane!
3. Lifeguard
I was a lifeguard around the city of Houston. I was equipped with the skills necessary to save a life if and when the situation arises. During my time on watch, everyone was safe and there have been 0 incident whenever I was in charge of safety.
4. Customer Sales & Service
I've been a cashier/trainer at Food Town. It is a high paced job, with me checking out over a thousand customers a day! Occasionally, I also train new employees on the rules of the establishment, and how to use the equipment as efficiently as possible.
Various Events & Organizations
Throughout the years I've been a part of several different organizations and a host of events that could display my character. Here's a simple list of a few noteworthy ones:
- Nov - Thanksgiving turkeys: Every year, our church provides socio-economically misfortunate families with meal packages, complete with canned goods, turkeys, desserts, etc. It's important for everyone, especially Christians, to give back to the community and help out the less fortunate.
- Dec - Christmas Drive: Likewise, around the holidays, annually we go out and provide toys to families who are unable to give their children the amazing Christmas they deserve. The holiday seasons isn't about getting gifts after all, its about giving, especially to those who are less fortunate.
- Aug 2-3 2023 - Hosted by Best Buy/Geek Squad: Summer career & Tech class: This was a quick summer class hosted by GeekSquad and Codexcel to open the minds of youth regarding STEM, including robotics, photography, cyber-security,etc.
- Website Building/Design: A side gig that I sometimes do is to establish websites for small local businesses. This involves manually setting up the domain, SSL, running a debian server, SSH, and of course actually building the page using HTML & CSS. My most recent client happens to be _____.
